Return to the Moon.

The first of several Images I've created for an upcoming Space 1999 article charting the origins of Moonbase Alpha on the Fanderson blog. This lander was originally made for a fan film along the same theme but unfortunately didn't get finished due to lack of time.

In a lot of ways I almost took more inspiration from the Moon Transport in 2001 A Space Odyssey with the windows and some of the detailing.

The suit was made by photographing a friend wearing a Jacket, tracksuit bottoms and a leftover helmet from the 2004 thunderbirds movie, and then manipulating them in multiple photoshop layers. Again trying to emulate Space 1999 but with a hint of 2001 on the shoulder slats.
