Tomb of the Cybermen

Description

Battered, defeated, their home-world burnt away and their Space fleet destroyed, the last remnants of the Cybermen flee to the Ice Planet Telos, Their plan, to bury themselves deep inside the planet and wait. Wait for thousands of years until they become legend and curious people come looking them, not knowing the danger they face...

The Tomb of the Cybermen, for me is probably the best Doctor Who story ever. Everything falls into place from cast, to music to the look, and the Cybermen are on terrifying form. It's almost fitting in the end they can't beat them so they lock them back into the Tomb.

While I loved the look of the Tomb itself I always kind of imagined there was more to it, so heres my depiction of it, as part of a large network of tunnels.

Also, I took another time-lapse video showing the making of this image, probably also showing how indecisive i was picking an angle to show it at.

Amazingly atmospheric, adding depth to what was only a small BBC studio in my mind but now, just wow - utterly stunning. One wishes all the 60s stories could be revisited like this. I have no qualms with this image EXCEPT the reproduction of the Cyberman graphic adorning the chambers and bottom tomb door, the proportions are slightly wrong but I did not notice until I pressed my face to the screen. Maybe it needs some more controls to control the other chambers, but I imagine those are closer to their counterparts. Now all it needs is some occupants! Preferably man and mat! Will this ever be animated?
